On July 24th, 2023, a journey began that started about 2 years ago, a pilot project at Canadian Kraft Paper. This endeavor was more than a mere project; it was a passionate pursuit, long yearned for, finally taking shape. In collaboration with OCN, WEM, and NMSC, CKP embraced an initiative that resonated profoundly with our organizational ethos, especially in recruitment and our vital community connection.

The "Passport to Employment Program" unfolded as a remarkable ten-week endeavor, brimming with ambition and purpose. Initially welcoming twelve enthusiastic participants, each with their own narrative, dreams, and aspirations, we now stand with immense pride as six graduates step forth, ready to conquer new horizons. Additionally, four have already commenced their first weeks of full-time employment here at CKP.

This journey stands as a testament to collaboration, dedication, and foresight. It wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of the incredible teams that united to breathe life into this ten-week program. To OCN, WEM, NMSC, UCN, our internal CKP teams, and every individual who dedicated time, effort, and expertise to this program, we are extremely grateful.

Through this initiative, we've not only empowered participants in their professional journeys but also fortified our ties with our communities. We've made a tangible, positive impact, sowing seeds of change.
